The Kerry CSC Parenting and Family Learning Working group exist to ensure;
  • All children will be cared for in a loving, supportive, caring home environment which supports their social, emotional, cognitive & intellectual development.
  • All children will be school ready on day 1 of primary school.
  • All young people will be prepared well to be caring, supportive & loving parents.

Family Learning
Family learning is about supporting the cognitive development of the child. Programmes support parents′ role as the primary educator of their children in the home and promote increased confidence in supporting your child′s learning. There are many family learning opportunities available in Kerry further details are available on or from KES or Family Resource Centre.

Being a parent is one of the most important roles any of us undertake. All parents need support from family and friends to help them be the best parents they can be. Parents need support at all stages of their child′s development. Parenting programmes and parents support groups are available to parents throughout the county. Who is involved
Members of the parenting & family learning working group include representatives from Kerry County Childcare, the HSE, Kerry Education Service, the Irish Primary Principals Network, Kerry Network of Family Resource Centres, North & east Kerry Development and South Kerry Development Partnership.
